Simon Bates, PhD
Simon Bates (PhD) provides academic leadership to CTLT which, combined with his role as Senior Advisor Teaching and Learning, ensures the centre is best positioned to support development, delivery and evaluation of outstanding teaching and learning across all Faculties and units. In addition, Simon holds a faculty position as Professor of Teaching in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, teaching on the PHYS 117 course and contributing to their Physics Education Research efforts. He is also the Lead for the Education Innovation cluster of Universitas21.
Catherine manages projects and activities surrounding strategic university-wide teaching and learning initiatives on behalf of the Academic Director. She coordinates and supports the work of various university Learning Technology governance committees, including the LT Leadership Team, LT Hub Leadership group, LT User Committee and LT Innovation Committee. Catherine also assists with the planning and administration of the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) application and review process.
