CTLT Faculty Associate Application

Application deadline: February 16, 2018

CTLT is accepting applications for the 2018 cohort of the Faculty Associates Program.  This program has three principal aims:

  1. To enable individuals acting as Faculty Associates to be supported to undertake teaching and learning projects of importance to them, their Department or Faculty
  2. To develop capacity for educational leadership across the university
  3. To complement and strengthen local (Faculty- or Department-based) teaching and learning support resources and provide greater access to relevant CTLT academic services and expertise

CTLT Faculty Associates agree to a two-year commitment to work on a project with support from CTLT. CTLT Faculty Associates receive a 3-credit course release each year to provide them with time to work on the proposed project.

  • Projects should focus on some aspect of teaching and learning, be of value to a department or a Faculty, and have impact beyond one’s own courses.
  • Interested Faculty should first discuss their project with their Department Head or an Associate Dean, to ensure that there is support for the project within the Faculty.

While we expect strong interest from those in the Educational Leadership stream, any tenure-track or tenured faculty member is eligible to apply.  We anticipate offering funding for four new CTLT Faculty Associates in 2018.

CTLT Faculty Associates receive on-going support from CTLT teams and from SoTL specialists to help them to design, develop and implement their projects, as well as participate in cohort activities with other CTLT Faculty Associates across the two-year program.

For the 2018 cohort, we are interested in hearing about many kinds of teaching and learning projects.  We are especially interested in projects that align with UBC’s emerging strategic plan as well as projects that are related to curriculum evaluation and renewal, and interdisciplinary teaching and learning.
