UBC students, faculty & staff are invited to explore the question, “What’s an Ideal Learning Environment?” in a World Café format. You can register for a session specific to teaching or learning – depending on whether you identify yourself as a teacher or learner. Please register for only one session. We plan to discuss your ideas about what makes a great learning/teaching experience. What are the ingredients? What do we need to do to support it?
Registration is now open for World Café sessions that will be held on October 5th and 6th at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. These sessions are FREE and your recommendations and outcomes will be compiled and shared during the 10th Annual Learning Conference on October 28th. Outcomes will also be used to inform decision making about various aspects of teaching and learning at UBC.
What is a “World Café?”: A World Café is an approach to discussion based on clusters of people, sharing their thoughts around specific questions. Thoughts will be documented, clustered and themed and we’ll end the discussion by looking at some of the patterns, insights, further questions and recommendations that emerge.
