Programmer Analyst

Tuệ Hoàng, eng. is a key driver of innovation at the CTLT, where he supports and maintains applications and systems for teaching and learning at UBC.

With a passion for Artificial Intelligence and enterprise architecture, he is dedicated to exploring and implementing cutting-edge educational technologies and methodologies. As a Programmer Analyst, he engages with colleagues and stakeholders to gather insights and feedback, expanding ideas into plans of action. 

“My goal is to enhance the learning experience for both students and educators.”

Originally from Vietnam, Tuệ studied Engineering at Concordia University in Montreal. His interest in technology and innovation began at a young age, having an innate fascination for ideas and drawing connections between them. This curiosity led him to pursue various educational and professional opportunities, expanding his knowledge and skills through various roles across his career. He is currently completing a neuroscience certificate at HarvardX, further demonstrating his commitment to lifelong learning and exploration of new fields.

In his free time, Tuệ enjoys exploring new places and finding ways to challenge himself, whether it’s physically through sports or mentally with a book. He finds joy in creative pursuits and brainstorming new ideas, and is always looking for ways he can experiment with technology and AI. A recent personal project from Tuệ explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and visual art.

Motivated by the process of discovering and implementing new ideas, Tuệ is always looking for opportunities to create positive change and make a meaningful impact on education.

Upcoming projects

Tuệ is currently working on several initiatives aimed at integrating advanced technologies into learning environments, using his expertise in leveraging AI to drive innovation. One project involves developing interactive GenAI for enhancing student engagement and understanding. 

If you would like to learn more about Generative AI and how to use it as a tool for teaching and learning, the CTLT provides a range of workshops and sessions. 

Weekly GenAI studios are designed to guide UBC faculty and staff through ongoing developments, offering an open question and answer session.

The next workshop, 30+30 Integrating GenAI in Assignments and Assessments, will explore various methods of integrating GenAI into assignments and assessments.
