In partnership with both individuals and UBC units, we apply a research-informed approach to support a complete development and renewal cycle for both individual courses and programs/specializations from design, through implementation, to evaluation. We provide support for all course modalities (face-to-face, technology-enhanced, flipped, blended/hybrid, and online) with specialized support for blended, online, and distance education courses.

Educational Evaluation & Research
Evaluation is key for helping you to understand what is and isn’t working with your projects or programs. Ongoing and iterative evaluation will help you make informed decisions, identify ways to sustain your work, and ultimately reach your intended goals. It involves periodically gathering data and reviewing it to determine if your objectives are being met.
We provide support for:
- Developing an evaluation plan around your specific goals,
- Identifying the best method(s) to collect evidence of impact,
- Designing and/or reviewing survey, focus group and/or interview questions,
- Crafting a data analysis plan
We also support educational research through consultation and resource development and offer workshops related to ethics for teaching and learning projects, survey design, focus groups/interviews, and more. You can view a listing of upcoming events which are hosted through the Institute for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISoTL).
