We are pleased to announce that Camtasia and Snagit, two multimedia creation tools, are now available to all UBC students, faculty, and staff. Upgrades and online support from Techsmith are included in this offer.
Camtasia is a user-friendly screen recording and video editing tool that allows anyone to create professional videos. You can capture anything on your screen or import your own media. Camtasia’s editor then allows you to edit your video and enhance it through themes, backgrounds, graphics, and more. Videos can be made interactive through adding features such as clickable links, and then easily shared with viewers.
Snagit is an easy to use screen capture tool, that allows customizations, mark-ups and even screen video recording. Finished projects can be shared as images or PDFs, through various platforms including Google Drive, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter or sent to Camtasia for editing.
Camtasia and Snagit are available for Windows or for Mac.
To access Camtasia and Snagit, go to the “Resources” tab in Connect. You are provided a link to download the product(s), as well as a license key. If the software is upgraded, the new license key will be available in the same location.
The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) offers weekly Connect/Copyright/Camtasia drop-in support sessions on Wednesdays between 1 and 3pmin the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. .
