The CTLT Resource Room, located in the CTLT offices on the second floor of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, houses a non-circulating collection of books, articles, newsletters, and other resources on the topics of teaching, learning, facilitation, and professional development. The Resource Room maintains a database of holdings, searchable by author, descriptor, and publication. Resources can be accessed in the Resource Room during office hours at CTLT.
CTLT also provides the UBC teaching community with a variety of online resources:
- CTLT has UBC site licenses for three teaching and learning related electronic newsletters: The Teaching Professor, Online Classroom, and Distance Education Report.
- All members of the UBC teaching community may register to receive free subscription(s) to any or all of these newsletters. Registration is only required once. With your subscription(s), you will receive a monthly email providing you with the current issue’s table of contents, and links to both individual articles and the entire issues. To register please contact us at: ctltresourceroom@exchange.ubc.ca
- All members of the UBC teaching community also have direct access to The Journal on Excellence in College Teaching through the following link:
http://celt.muohio.edu/ject. No login is required from a UBC IP address.
- CTLT has a Teaching and Learning Resources Portal on the UBC Wiki, where you can have access (and contribute) to resources and articles on a diverse range of teaching and learning topics, strategies, issues, and tools.
- In the Instructional Skills Workshop Facilitator Portal on the UBC Wiki, there are also materials designed for use by ISW facilitators.
- We update our LEARN@CTLT Twitter page and CTLT Google Reader Shared Item Page on a daily basis. On LEARN@CTLT, you can view our twitter feed of news items, helpful citations and event notifications. On the CTLT Google Reader Shared Item Page, you will be able to view or subscribe to a feed of news items about teaching and learning. (We are currently in the process of relocating our CTLT Google Reader Shared Item Page).
- We also provide consultation and support services around teaching and learning resources. You can submit a consultation request by filling out a request form.
