IOP 2013 – Call for Proposals
The 16th annual Investigating Our Practices (IOP) Conference will be happening May 11, 2013, in the Scarfe Building at UBC (2125 Main Mall). The event is co-sponsored by the Faculty of Education and the BC Teachers’ Federation. Practicing teachers, graduate students, undergraduate students, and university educators from different educational contexts convene at UBC to share their investigations, understandings, and questions. Registration is $25 ($15 for students), and lunch and refreshments are included.
Proposals for presentations can be submitted online. Submission deadline: February 26, 2013.

EDC 2013 Conference
The annual Educational Developers Caucus (EDC) Conference will be held February 20-22, 2013 at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. The focus of this year’s caucus will be “Crossing Boundaries, Building Capacity!” More information can be found on the conference website.
ELI Annual Meeting
The EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative’s (ELI) Annual Meeting will take place in Denver, Colorado from February 4-6, 2013. The theme of this year’s event is “Advancing the Next Generation of Learning.” More information on the program is available on the EDUCAUSE website.
UBC is an EDUCAUSE member institution and will register and host the online conference sessions this year, in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.
ETUG T.E.L.L. Sessions
BC’s Educational Technology Users Group (ETUG) hosts monthly Lunch n’ Learn webinars on a variety of topics relating to teaching and learning with technology. Sessions are facilitated by edtech experts from post secondary institutions across the province. Registration is free and open to all. More information and an upcoming session roster can be found on the ETUG website.
STLHE 2013
Canada’s Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) will hold its 33rd annual conference at Cape Breton University in Sydney, Nova Scotia from June 19-22, 2013. The theme for 2013 is “Sustainability: Learning to Live, Learning for Life.” More information can be found on the conference website.
Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Advancement Conference: Teaching Graduate Students to Teach
Teaching Graduate Students to Teach is a two-day conference to promote best practices and scholarship among people who strive to do just that: cultivate the teaching abilities of graduate students across Canada. The conference will be held May 13-14, 2013, at the Simon Fraser University Harbour Centre location in Downtown Vancouver.
The conference has put out a call for papers, and interested participants are encouraged to submit an abstract by February 4, 2013. More information about the conference can be found on the conference website.
