Peer Review of Teaching
In the November edition of Edubytes, our guest editor, Isabeau Iqbal, will be exploring the topic of peer review of teaching. Isabeau is a Senior Educational Consultant, Educational Leadership, at the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT). She leads UBC’s formative peer review of teaching program for faculty members and is involved in various summative peer review of teaching initiatives.
Open Education
In the October edition of Edubytes, our guest editors from the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT), Christina Hendricks, academic director; Lucas Wright, senior educational consultant; and Will Engle, strategist of open education initiatives, have curated the first part of this edition where they will be exploring open education.
Peer Assessment
In the September edition of Edubytes, our guest editors from the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT), Bosung Kim, PhD; Isabeau Iqbal, PhD; and Jason Myers have curated the first part of this edition where they will be exploring peer assessment. Bosung is an educational consultant in learning design, Isabeau is a senior educational consultant in educational leadership, and Jason works as a faculty liaison with the Faculty of Arts.
Students as Partners
In the July edition of Edubytes, our guest editor, Roselynn Verwoord, will be exploring students as partners. Roselynn is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Educational Studies at UBC and a Fellow of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She works as a Curriculum Consultant at the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology and as an instructor in teacher and adult education. She has engaged in several students as partners projects and can often be found writing about the role that power can play in partnerships.
Online and Blended Learning: A Catalyst in Higher Education Reforms
In the June edition of Edubytes, our guest editors, Chris Crowley and Afsaneh Sharif, will be exploring online learning. Afsaneh is a Faculty Liaison and Senior Project Manager at the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) and has twenty years of experience in open, online and technology-enhanced course and program development. She has been listed as one of the top 90 Canadian researchers in online, blended and distance education and has taught an online course called “Designing and Teaching Online Courses” internationally for many years.
Teaching Assistantship as Teaching Preparation
In the May edition of Edubytes, we will be exploring teaching assistantship as teaching preparation. Our guest editor, Joseph Topornycky, has curated the first part of this edition of Edubytes. Joseph is a manager of graduate student programs with the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT).

In the April edition of Edubytes, we will be exploring inclusive teaching, which is also the theme of UBC Vancouver’s annual week-long showcase of teaching and learning opportunities, Celebrate Learning Week.
