Join us May 26-27, 2015, at the annual CTLT Spring Institute!
The theme for this year’s Institute is inquiry-based experiential learning, with sessions focusing on flexible learning, community-based experiential learning, and open education. The two-day event will include interactive workshops, open lectures, and discussion sessions, featuring over 35 faculty, staff, and student facilitators from across campus.
Highlights include:
- An exploration of the role of open badges in teaching and learning and their use and implementation in the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law, and UBC Library
- A discussion about how student collaboration, critical reflection, and meaningful engagement in classroom and community-based learning environments is supported in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems
- A presentation and interactive discussion, led by undergraduate Learning Technology Rovers, about how the program supports faculty across the University and provides a unique learning experience for the participants
- An examination of a first-year Biology flexible learning project, and how large enrolment, multi-section courses implemented flexible classroom activities
The CTLT Spring Institute offers participants an opportunity to network, gain practical ideas, and share best practices with fellow colleagues and members of the UBC community. All events are free and will take place in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. UBC faculty, staff, post-docs, and students are welcome to attend!

Hi,
As I’m a working mum, I’m interested in the flexible open learning. Which programs do you have online? How long do I generally need to achieve a online learning program? Is the certificate or diploma the same as the others of regular programs in person? As the webpage seems not updated, could you help to share the related information through email? So I can plan and prepare to make registration.
