With a PhD in Educational Technology focusing on instructional design and distance education, Hailan is an experienced learning and instructional designer in Higher Education with years of experience. She manages the development and delivery of quality online learning courses and projects and is dedicated in working closely with faculty members to apply sound instructional design principles to their online learning courses. She ensures that course design and development meet best practice standards, accommodate for diverse learners, and incorporate appropriate learning technologies in facilitating and assessing student active learning.

John collaborates with programs, faculty, staff and students to develop innovative and inclusive learning and course designs. He holds a Master of Educational Technology from the University of British Columbia and has an extensive background supporting educational technology-driven teaching and learning at UBC. While best practices guide his work, he loves to experiment with new technologies to create active and engaging learning experiences. He is currently interested in and learning more about how inclusive pedagogies can transform learning designs.

Manuel supports faculty and staff in integrating technology in their teaching and learning practice. He has more than seven years of experience in educational development and instructional design to support instructors in face-to-face, fully online and blended learning contexts. He has a keen interest in course design to enhance student engagement and collaboration online using a variety of learning technologies. Manuel supports professional development programs at CTLT including the Instructional Skills Workshop, Teaching in a Blended Learning Environment, the Learning Technology Hub, and the Canvas and edX Studio training sessions.

Bosung supports faculty with the creation of engaging and interactive online courses. With years of experience in instructional design and online teaching in higher education, she believes that technology assists with learning when it is carefully planned, designed, and integrated into instruction. She loves to research and try out educational technologies as well as best practices and instructional strategies using those tools to enhance the teaching and learning experience. She is currently interested in utilizing peer interactions to promote learning.

Marie provides leadership in the design and development of courses through engaging with instructors about ways to leverage learning technologies to support their teaching goals. In collaboration with faculty, Marie works on projects to identify needs, recommend and implement solutions, and support the evaluation of the changes. In the last few years, Marie has provided leadership in determining requirements and inspiring pedagogical and technological changes in large projects in her roles as Strategist for the Learning Technology Environment Renewal Project and Curriculum Manager for the new Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs program.
