Faculty Orientations

This event is designed to introduce new faculty members to the structure and people of UBC. It provides an excellent opportunity to meet new colleagues from different departments as well as members of the senior administration and representatives from other units that will be important to faculty at the University.

The orientation begins with an optional campus tour, a light lunch, and ends with a reception hosted by senior administrators. This half-day event is designed to help new faculty and new staff members:

  • Hear first-hand from colleagues on how to have a successful first year;
  • Connect with peers and colleagues who are also new to UBC;
  • Navigate effectively through UBC's resources and services; and
  • Understand UBC's organizational structure and current initiatives.

For more information, please contact Emily Renoe, Educational Consultant: Learning Technologies, at emily.renoe@ubc.ca.

This event is coordinated with the VP Research Office Orientation Day. The two events have different foci and provide information regarding key aspects of your life on campus.
